How to use the easy grader
Enter the total questions and the number answered incorrectly. Every question has equal value in this mode. The tool subtracts the points lost, divides the remaining points by the total and multiplies by 100. You can switch to correct answers or points earned when those values are easier to enter.
A worked example
A 25-question assessment with four wrong answers earns 21 out of 25 points: 21 ÷ 25 × 100 = 84%. For partial credit, enter fractional points lost or switch to points earned. A score of 17.5 out of 20 is 87.5%.
Use your own grading policy
Percentages are the default because letter-grade cutoffs differ between courses. Open grading settings to select an example scale, or build your own scale. Display rounding does not change the letter grade unless you explicitly enable rounding before grading.
When questions have different point values
Use points-earned mode and enter the sum of awarded points and the maximum possible points. Counting wrong questions alone would treat a one-point question and a ten-point question as equal. For several assessments, use the weighted grade calculator.
